Krasner, who co-owns Expected Technology Services in New Orleans with his wife, Maritza, credits the business plan process with helping him focus on the long-term aspects of his business. “We had to take a realistic approach to the business in two years, three years and five years down the road,” he said.
Even if the franchise provides a business plan, the individual owner needs to tailor the plan for his business. Celli said, “You have to mold it to your area and location.”
And he makes sure the veterans he works with know their business plans inside and out. He said, “They have to own it. The business is their heart and soul. They have to love it.”
